A waveplate, also known as a phase retarder, introduces a phase shift between two orthogonal polarization components of a transmitted beam and can be used to adjust the polarization state of the light. When ordering a waveplate, please specify the wavelength, phase retardation, aperture, and type (zero-order or multi-order). Waveplates can be mounted in metal holders according to customer requirements. We offer most standard wavelengths and can also customize waveplates for special phases and wavelengths. Common waveplates are made of quartz crystal, mainly half-waveplates (λ/2) and quarter-waveplates (λ/4).
