Achromatic lenses are composed of two lenses made of different materials. They are designed to focus two different wavelengths of light to the same point, also known as correcting chromatic aberration. The two-element achromatic lens is the simplest type, available in two forms: cemented doublet and air-spaced doublet. Achromatic lenses can also be multi-element designs depending on application requirements.
